Dave Curtin Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications

  • The applicant must be a 12th-grade student, at a north New Jersey secondary school, who will pursue post-secondary education and/or military service. College, junior college, community college, vocational/trade school, and/or any of the military branches will be considered appropriate for application.
  • The applicant must be an active/engaged member of the FCA Huddle, who has been nominated, electronically, by their huddle coach. All applications/nominations will be sent to FCA North Jersey Director.
  • The applicant must electronically submit an essay titled, “Jesus in my life”, describing how the applicant’s relationship with Jesus Christ affects who they are, and what they do. This essay, in conjunction with the nomination letter from the huddle coach, will be the basis for selection of the recipient.
  • The applicant will complete all aspects of the application process no later than midnight on Oct. 20 ... WITHOUT EXCEPTION!


The Award

  • The recipient will receive the Curtin Memorial Award plaque.
  • The recipient will receive $1,000 to help defray expenses related to their post-secondary education.
  • The recipient will receive their award at the FCA North Jersey Taste of Victory event on Saturday, Nov. 2.
  • The funds will be transferred directly to the financial aid office of the recipient’s post-secondary institution from FCA. Special arrangements will be made for recipients who will join the armed forces immediately, as per NCAA/FCA regulations.
